Facilities and Grounds Action Plan 2024, Operation Facelift
Even though Camp will not be held this summer (read more), the camp will not lay idle as The Executive Board has made a commitment to upgrade the facilities this year to provide an even better experience for our campers and staff when we reopen in 2025. The ambitious goal is to provide a facelift to the interiors of the Pavilion, the Knights and Alhambra Buildings by:
Repairing damaged walls and giving them a new coat of paint to brighten the buildings to lighten spirits and morale.
Repair, Paint, or replace doors as needed.
Re- Lamp the buildings with energy efficient LED light bulbs to provide better lighting and reduce our Consumers Energy Bills.
Repair the Shower Rooms
Replace old window coverings with new window treatments that are functional and look good.
Good general cleaning in all the buildings, the kitchen, and all ancillary equipment.
Clean thoroughly the Pontoon Boat and paint where needed.
Paint and stain where needed the chairs and tables in the Pavilion.
Donations and Volunteer Hours are Needed Now More than Ever! Some Facts:
Camp fees only cover 43% of the cost to send a camper to camp for a week. Donations must cover the gap between fees charged and the operating expenses of running the Camp.
Operation Facelift is needed to insure the long-term viability and sustainability of our beloved St Francis Camp on the Lake. After 40 years of dedicated use, it is time to upgrade and repair the buildings with some TLC.
To accomplish the goals of Operation Facelift, continued generous donations of money and volunteer hours are needed more than ever! On the Camp Website under "Get Involved" you will find both ways to contribute money and volunteer your time. There is a Spring Cleanup planned for May 18th & 19th but two days barely scratch the needs of Operation Facelift. This will be an ongoing program in 2024. Please contact President Ben Dandrow and ask how you or your organizations can help.
Sincerely,
Ben Dandrow
