About Us
In 1984, the Great Lakes Region of Caravans of the Order of Alhambra jointly purchased a camp in the Irish Hills of Michigan, now known as St. Francis Camp on the Lake.
St. Francis Camp on the Lake is a 501-(c)3, non-profit organization committed to providing the ultimate camp experience to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. St. Francis Camp on the Lake is a premier camping facility for those with special needs. Our 36-acre site includes 195 feet of waterfront located on the shores of Goose Lake with sandy beach, rustic woods, developed nature trails, specially equipped playground, horizontal climbing wall, sports area, adventure course and two beautiful cedar lodges where campers and counselors are housed.
We provide week long summer camp programs which are aimed at inspiring individual campers to be potent, loving, contributing human beings. Our specially designed programs truly empower the individual camper.
