Staff & Internship Application

Thank you for your interest in St. Francis Camp on the Lake.

St. Francis Camp on the Lake provides a personalized summer camp experience for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Careful consideration is given to placement of each camper with the most suitable groups and activities.

Our camp staff dedicates their summers to ensure the best care for all of our campers. The main objectives of camp are met through careful planning of sessions and modifying activities to meet the campers' needs, skills, and ages.

Campers are encouraged to partake in a wide array of activities which may include: Boating; Arts & Crafts; Fishing; Hiking; Sing-a-Longs; Aquatic Games; Dances; Campfires; Volleyball; Basketball: plus much, much more! Each activity is taught with a hands-on approach, allowing for a heightened awareness of all senses. This stimulation helps accelerate learning and makes it FUN!

There are many opportunities available to be a part of St. Francis Camp on the Lake including Health Officer, Deputy Camo Director, Camp Counselors, Lifeguards, Cooks and Volunteers. If you have the passion to serve, the desire to live and play together in dignity, respect and love, and interest in joining the team at St. Francis Camp on the Lake, please apply!

It is possible to gain college credit or fieldwork hours from work experience at camp. Internships at St. Francis Camp on the Lake can be designed to accommodate a wide range of professional fields including outdoor education, recreation management, youth development, rehabilitation counseling, marketing, business management, and food services. Job Postings

We are currently looking to fill the following staff positions for the 2025 camping season:

All jobs will start May 26th, 2024 and end August 16th, 2024 however, there may be an offer for some employees to stay until September 30th, 2024 to help clean and close camp for the fall/winter. Every employee will participate in a two week orientation so all staff members are familiar with the camp, camp procedures, camp policies and have had time to develop a positive working attitude/environment with others who will be working at the camp for the summer.

All jobs will include room and board for the entire employment period. All employees are welcome to stay at camp on the weekends when campers are not present. Again room and board applies however we do not have a cook working on the weekends therefore you must cook and clean all meals for yourself during the weekend. During the weekends you’re welcome to use the camp facilities that include the pontoon and hiking trails along with other activities that campers may use throughout the summer camp.

Your work hours are Sunday at 12pm to Friday at 2-3pm. Therefore you’re off duty from Friday at 3pm until Sunday at 12pm. During the week you’re on duty 24/7 working directly with campers and sleeping in the same cabin as your campers.  You’re given a two(2) hour break daily.

If you’re interested in any of the posted positions you may contact the camp president at bdandrow@saintfranciscamp.org
