Program Information

 St. Francis Camp on the Lake provides summer camp and respite care services to children and adults with developmental disabilities. Licensed by Michigan's Department of Human Services, we provide campers with the highest level of care. By maintaining a 3:1 camper-to-staff ratio, we ensure that each camper receives individualized attention throughout their stay at camp.

St. Francis Camp on the Lake offers a personalized camping experience to meet the individual needs and interests of each camper. To ensure the emotional and physical well-being of the campers we serve, our staff is specially trained to meet each camper's behavioral, medical and dietary needs. Specialty dietary services and 1:1 care are available, please contact the Camp Director for more information.

Medical Care

St. Francis Camp on the Lake offers individualized attention to our campers’ medical conditions. Each staff member is trained in CPR, First-Aid, AED use, diabetic care, seizure response and camper direct care. We have a Health Officer on site 24 hours a day and an office and infirmary equipped to handle basic medical needs. The camp’s physician is on call 24 hour a day in case of a medical emergency.

Dietary Needs

Our staff at St. Francis Camp on the Lake are prepared to meet the individualized dietary needs of our campers. Weekly menu plans follow the USDA “Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2010” and can be modified to meet specific campers’ needs including pureed, chopped, dye-free, gluten-free, diabetic, low carb, and low fat/sodium diets.
